Writers Can Read monthly authors series will feature Eric Douglas and Carter Seaton reading from selected works. The event will be on Monday, June 19 beginning at 7 at Empire Books and News.

Eric Douglas Eric Douglas’ writing encompasses multiple genres including adult thrillers, children’s chapter books and a non-fiction memoir. Creator of the popular Mike Scott and Withrow Key thriller series, Eric has worked in the scuba diving industry for nearly 20 years bringing themes of thrills and realistic scuba diving adventures to life in his works.  Eric also drives his ocean themes into children’s chapter stories.  An open heart surgery survivor,  Eric examines his own recovery in Heart Survivor:Recovery After Heart Surgery.  He currently lives in Charleston, WV.

Carter Taylor Seaton Carter Seaton is the author of the newly released biography of long time WV politician and activist, Ken Hechler.  Award winning writer and sculpter,  Carter’s works include Hippie Homesteaders: Arts, Crafts, Music, and Living on the Land in West Virginia, two novels, and numerous magazine articles. A ceramic sculptor, she previously directed a rural craft cooperative and was a marketing professional for thirty years. She is the recipient of the 2014 West Virginia Library Association’s Literary Merit Award, 2015 Marshall University Distinguished Alumni Award, and the 2016 Governor’s Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
